About Us

Founded in 2005 with offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney and Melbourne, XAct Solutions is dedicated to achieving transformational Supply Chain change throughout the Asia Pacific Region.

Our people are the region’s leading industry practitioners in Industrial Property, Logistics and Project Management, who bring both operational experience and a seasoned perspective to the realities of managing change.

The key to identifying opportunities, implementing solutions, and realising enduring benefits is supporting deeply knowledgeable people in each supply chain discipline with effective tools and methodology.

Each client’s circumstances and needs are different. With this in mind we tailor our approach to yield the greatest impact for the situation, and work flexibly to integrate with the client’s organisation and culture.

Philosophy

By definition, supply chains are broad and integrated, and we understand their critical linkage to business performance. We are passionate about high-performing supply chains. With this in mind we:

  • believe that hiring people with a combination of problem solving expertise and operational experience is key to crafting solutions and delivering outstanding results
  • treat our staff with respect, incentivise them to serve the interests of our clients and provide an environment in which to excel
  • use our experience to clearly define the problem our clients need to solve. Our problem solving approach is data driven and collaborative, enabling our clients to see and own the answer
  • have a clear understanding of our strengths and capabilities and are confident enough to tell the truth as we see it

History

XAct Solutions is a privately-owned supply chain consulting firm. The company was formed in October, 2005 by Byron Patching and Peter Ramsay, who recognised that their combined experience in Industrial Property and Supply Chain would provide a unique opportunity to assist businesses achieve greater operational efficiencies and substantial cost savings.

From inception, it became apparent that there was a strong demand for genuine strategic supply chain planning supported by pragmatic design and implementation expertise. This was exemplified by the re-fashioning of Myer’s supply chain under private equity ownership that included the creation of a new network in under 18 months and resulted in dramatic cost reductions.

In 2012 Geoff Thomas joined to become the third partner, followed by James Layard in 2013 who heads our Asian operations.

XAct remains privately owned with the four Principals actively managing the business. We currently have a team of over 40 consultants across the four offices located in Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore & Bangkok.

Many of our long term clients are in the BRW top 100 companies and we have worked with over 145 clients across Large Grocery, Retail, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Utilities, Industrial, Government and Health Services industry sectors. The nature of our work is strategically and commercially sensitive for our clients.
